Kensei Yabuno was born in Hokkaido, Japan 1975, studied Fine Art at Camberwell College of Art from 1996 to 1998 and is presently residing in Tokyo
Exhibitions of his collections at Spitz Gallery - London, New Image Art Gallery - L.A. and Beams Gallery, Limart, and The Last Gallery – Tokyo, have introduced Kensei to the international artist stage
Contributions of his artistic talent have been visible in domestic and internationally renowned publications such as idea, Vice, Dazed & Confused, Esquire, Dune and Quotation Magazines
Illustrations and supplying the cover artwork for Beck, won Kensei the coveted 2007 ‘Yellow Pencils’ D & AD Prize and the D & AD Awards for Big Active Agency, thus also allowing Crue-l Records the position to also boast the use of his artwork
Collections of Kensei’s artwork have been displayed and sold at Isetan department store and Beams in Tokyo as well as Colette in Paris
Collaborations have included the Comme des Garçons 2011 Women’s Spring/Summer collection, Porter by Yoshida & Co and Medicom Toy
